Broadcasters FAQ - don't forget
to read the Guidelines
What kind of things can I ask for?
Pretty much anything, within reason. Why not describe the format
of your show, or perhaps what has worked in the past. The content
providers have signed up to help you with the creative process
- it's in their interest to understand your needs and then offer
suitable content, guests, material, etc. You may need an expert
on a certain topic - simply state that requirement and see what
happens. You may want to mark an event/anniversary/birthday
- again, make that clear and let the content providers brainstorm
the possibilities.
Am I going to get flooded with suggestions and offers of
help I can't use?
No, because not only can you choose how content providers contact
you, always remember that these people are professionals, they
have jobs to do! Unless they think there's a good chance of
you both working together they probably won't get in touch at
all. If you want to consider offers of help at your leisure
ask content providers to contact you via email. If you need
something in a hurry, why not give your station's phone/fax
number?
Can I simply ask for prizes for my show? I'm not really
bothered what they are as long as they're flash.
We're afraid not. We'd much rather you have more specific requests
as this will work best for you and the content providers. Don't
forget, the content providers are looking for requests for which
they have something in mind. They are far more likely to respond
to a request for sports content to tie in with an up-and-coming
sporting event, for example. However, properly presented general
requests may be distributed to content providers on very special
occasions - just explain why it's such a special case!
Public relations/marketing
professionals FAQ - don't forget to read the Guidelines
I've registered as a content provider - now how do I send
my pitches to broadcasters?
Click on the PITCH!
link you'll find at the top right of most pages. Once you've
entered your username and password you'll reach the submission
page. Consider bookmarking that page for future reference.
Can I submit a list of my clients and ask broadcasters to
contact me if any of them are of interest?
We're afraid not. Content providers can submit pitches regarding
specific clients and what they have to offer. They can even
submit these more than once - but within reason! We will filter
out any submissions which come in too often. And besides, the
best way to make the most of ReachRadio is to sell broadcasters
on the idea that your content is extra special - they are far
more likely to respond to offers that have resulted from a little
creative brainstorming.
How soon will my pitch go out to the broadcasters?
A round-up of pitches will be issued once a week, but particularly
time-sensitive pitches (and broadcaster requests for content)
may be issued as and when they are filed.
